September 2025 Update

This post is part of our monthly supporter updates and reflects product development and thinking at the time it was written. Here is our latest update.

Hi all,

Here's what's new this month from Artificial Societies:

We announced our $5.35m seed-stage financing

Our seed financing includes a pre-seed led by Kindred Capital and a seed round led by Point72 Ventures, with participation from Y Combinator and angels associated with Sequoia Scout, Prolific, and Google DeepMind. The announcement broke 500,000 views in 24 hours and was covered by Business Insider. Naturally, we simulated how to pitch the news before publishing.

We launched Synthetic Surveys

Our simulations now match real-world survey results at 86% accuracy, only 5% below the human self-replication benchmark of 91%. You can create a society of a highly specific group who would never answer surveys in real life, build surveys with up to 20 questions, and receive aggregated results in 45 seconds, with the ability to dive into individuals for follow-up interviews. We also shipped "Views," letting users filter results by location, age group, job seniority, and other categories.

Artificial Societies turned one. We were mentioned by a16z in their Future of Market Research report, welcomed Felix Wallis to the team, and held our first company offsite.
